24 March 2006 (9 months 2 weeks) This was a big month for our little boy. He's now officially mobile, and able to crawl and cruise nearly anywhere he wants to go. He is excited about every new discovery in mobility and eager to learn new tricks. He began last month by turning over and over to get to where he wanted to go, then gradually figured out how to low crawl forward like a little wounded shoulder. He still doesnt like to get up on his knees to crawl. Then he began insisting on standing, holding onto the edge of the furniture and shuffling his feet along. He gradually grew braver, testing out each new move to get to another handhold and eventually figured out that he could push a milk crate in front of him to use like a little walker. About a week ago he figured how to pull himself up from a crawl to sitting, and then from there up to standing. Now he follows us around the house, likes to hold our hands while he walks everywhere, and remains a happy little boy. He is babbling and gesturing more now, in a way that suggests that he thinks he's talking just like everyone else. He is still in a phase where he likes to be kept close to momma and poppa, even while sleeping, but he is so cute and cuddly that this is a pretty nice thing.
